I’ve always enjoyed referring to myself as a kidpreneur, who evolved into teenprenuer and is now an entrepreneur. On my 16th birthday, I couldn’t wait to start my LinkedIn page! At the age of 7, you could find me selling bracelets, pillows, and blankets at marketplaces in my local community.
During the summer of 8th grade, my family decided to up and move from New Jersey to South Florida, where we began touring a multitude of schools, and where my first immense “clue” popped out. North Broward Preparatory Schools entrepreneurship program. This program was the driving force that led me to pick North Broward, which ultimately led me to Melissa Butterworth. During my second year in the program, I was introduced to Melissa Butterwotth Via the presentation she gave. I was lucky enough to get her expertise on the startup company I was currently working on. About a month later, Melissa came back into my entrepreneurship class and put on two $5,000 entrepreneurship contests with the chance to win a paid internship. After countless hours of time spent, I was thrilled to see a white Rolls Royce pull up to the house I was babysitting at, where Melissa came out with her giant $5,000 check and the hug that made my dreams come true.
I have currently been working with Melissa for the past year and a half. As an ongoing ASP intern, I have worked alongside the publishing of Clues the novel, created the corresponding ebook, revamped and created the Clues blog, and so much more.
As well as the work I have done with Melissa, I am a 4-time class president at North Broward Prep, and I am the CEO and founder of Awear LLC, a digital startup company that promotes sustainable shopping habits, and Founder/ Host of CampCast Non-Profit podcast, that sends under-resourced children to summer camp and college. Melissa has played a huge role in the playing out of Awear. With Melissa’s expertise, inspiration, and guidance, I was able to step away from my past startup company, Sattainable LLC, go on my own path and launch Awear. Over the past year, I have scaled Awear from a team of 1 to a team of 12. I currently have a CMO and 10 interns working with me. Check it out at alwaysbeawear.com.
As high school is a journey and a crucial time of growth, I have really been able to lean into my passions and partake in a plethora of opportunities. As I am extremely grateful and aware that the majority of the world doesn’t have those opportunities, I have ensured that the American Intern Contest becomes readily accessible. Melissa and I plan to donate a bunch of Clues novels to inner-city schools so that those students can begin their entrepreneurial journeys and reap the generosity of the dynasty the American Intern is building.
As I am a senior in high school, my college journey is fast approaching. Though I don't know where I will be attending, I feel so much gratitude in knowing that I will end up where I am meant to be because “clues” will lead me there. Melissa has not only preached a compilation of life lessons to me and my fellow interns but has also provided me with an infinite amount of faith and excitement for the journey ahead. The Clues book is an incredible opportunity for entrepreneurs around the world to gain insight into all aspects of life, alignment, passion, happiness, and success in your career. It truly is a one-of-a-kind novel that we can’t wait to share with the world.
I am so grateful for Melissa and my fellow American Interns. Head over to one of their stories to learn more about the incredible adventures these young entrepreneurs are taking. To learn more about me head to sabrinariback.com!
