Creative visualization is a powerful tool to help you get into alignment with your biggest goals. We go more in-depth about this concept in our novel, Clues. However, you can implement this tool now, and watch your life change.
Remember, if this tool works for you, there are plenty more tools like this that will change your life explained thoroughly in Clues.
So, what is creative visualization and why is it so important?
Creative visualization is the process of imagining exactly what you want in your life as if you’ve already achieved it. You are in essence creating an inner experience of what it would be like to have your desires become a reality. This is slightly different from the positive affirmation technique because you’re putting more emphasis on the visualization rather than the words themselves.
Our favorite 2 creative visualization techniques we like to have readers begin with are basic visualization and the helium balloon technique. Both of these techniques work anywhere at any time and are a good way to get you into that higher energy and that state of attraction.
Basic Visualization
1.Pick a time of day when your mind is most rested, and you feel like you can focus.
2.Pick a goal, something that you desire to do or have. For example, “I would like to be more athletic.”
3.Make an affirmation about yourself as if it has already occurred. It is helpful to use the present tense and keep it simple. For example, I am an athletic person.
4.Close your eyes and picture your goal while allowing yourself to feel as if it were already true. Make sure that you connect with your emotions. As you are visualizing, feel the emotions as if what you are visualizing has already happened and you are remembering what it felt like. The key is to allow yourself to feel what it would be like to be athletic. Picture yourself running on the beach, lifting weights, or whatever feels right for you.
5.We recommend doing this for 10 to 15 minutes a day, three to four days a week at the beginning. As this exercise becomes more natural, increase the frequency until you’re doing this naturally every day.
Basic Visualization helps you to connect deeper with yourself, your goals, and how you can get there.
The Helium Balloon Technique
Have you ever purchased a helium balloon from the grocery or party store? The helium balloon technique combines a fun visually with the basic visualization technique that we discussed earlier in a very simple, effective way.
1.Sit down somewhere comfortable, whether it’s on the beach, indoors on your favorite comfortable chair, or outdoors in nature with your feet stable and comfortable on the ground.
2. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, becoming aware of each breath, as you count backward from 50 to 1.
3.Imagine something that you wish to manifest in your life. Imagine that this has already happened. Picture this clearly in your mind and allow yourself to feel the sensations of having already accomplished your goal.
4.In your mind, picture a helium balloon, filled with all of the things that you want to accomplish: your biggest dreams, something you want to bring into your life, or an opportunity you’ve been hoping for. Use color to brighten your visualization: maybe a bright green balloon if you’re envisioning prosperity, or a pink balloon, representing the color of the heart if you wish to bring love into your life.
5.Imagine the balloon is filled with all of your (future) accomplishments, and then let the balloon go, floating off into the universe, while still focusing on your vision. (You may consider releasing an actual physical balloon into the air.)
6.You can do this practice once, daily, or every designated Saturday or Sunday as a ritual. The more often you do this technique, the more your desires will come to pass.
This exercise symbolizes letting go of control over the vision and turning it over to the universe (or a higher power) and allowing it to bring your manifestations to you. You are not letting go of your vision itself, but, are letting go of the outcome.
Remember, once you let the balloon go, it is out of your hands. The universe is now in control.
